5th IPG International Geoscience Conference 2022

In November 2022, Miss Joe Magno and Mr Nick Dunstan attended the 5th IPG International Geoscience Conference in Dili on behalf of the Company. Iron Fortune was delighted to again be invited to make a presentation to the Conference and Joe Magno was excited to present on “Commercial geology in Timor-Leste: a nation building opportunity”.

It was a successful conference and we were very pleased to once again meet our Timor-Leste friends and colleagues face to face after the pandemic.

On Friday 11 November 2022 Iron Fortune had the privilege to have a meeting wB028B48A-D213-49EF-BAFC-2EEADF9F6AC4ith His Excellency the Minister of Petroleum and Minerals of Timor Leste, Mr. Victor Soares and the team. The objective of the meeting is to relate Iron Fortune works in Timor Leste and to know the pre-qualification progress. The meeting was very good. The process explanation was very clear. Iron Fortune look forward to be a part of serious investment in beloved Timor Leste.

New Australian Registered Office

From 1 October 2020, Iron Fortune has relocated its Australian operations to 32 Andretti Court, Truganina, Victoria, 3029.

The new premises are also occupied by McLeod Rail and comprise modern offices including boardrooms, laboratories, warehouse and car parking.

The Oecusse field trip with the Institute of Petroleum and Geology and the University of Melbourne has successfully concluded. Some 200kg of samples were collected and will soon be shipped to the University for analysis.

The trip provided invaluable training for our geophysicist, Joe Magno and director Mary Thompson was on hand to welcome the touring party back to Dili.

Our Geophysicist, Francisca Joe Magno, Dili, Timor-Leste

In October 2014, Iron Fortune director Mary Thompson conducted interviews in Dili for Timor-Leste based geophysicists, ahead of the planned 2015 establishment of Iron Fortune’s Timor-Leste office.

Thereafter, in late 2014, Iron Fortune was delighted to appoint Francisca Joe Magno as our geophysicist. Menina Joe (or Miss in Tetum) will be based in Dili and will play a key role in developing our potential in Timor-Leste. The Company is excited by the opportunity to employ Menina Joe and in providing further opportunities for her continuing education and advancement through our relationship with the University of Melbourne.

Iron Fortune announces A$250,000 capital raising

On 6 October 2014, Iron Fortune announced its first capital raising for A$250,000. The amount raised will be utilised to fund a twelve month programme in Timor-Leste, together with a South Australian geophysical study.
